Poa pratensis «Morsanskaya 97» is a low-growing lawn that is distinguished by its high decorative value and ease of care. The plant grows primarily outward, forming numerous creeping shoots with nodes-«whip-like structures» that root to form small bushes about 10 cm high. Thanks to this structure, the lawn quickly covers the area and does not require regular mowing - only periodic low mowing is recommended, which should be carried out late autumn before the onset of frost.
The variety is characterized by high growth intensity and good adaptation to various soil conditions. It is especially moisture-loving in the first year of growth, so when sowing, seeds are desirable to be mixed with wet sawdust (ratio one to ten) and not to bury them too deep - this will help evenly distribute the grains on the surface. The sowing rate is 50 g per 10 m²; with dense sowing, plants may «out-compete» each other due to lack of nutrition and light, while with sparse sowing, bald spots appear.
Poa pratensis «Morsanskaya 97» grows well in both sunny and semi-shaded areas. During drought, the plant may turn yellow, but after the first rains, it quickly recovers, forming a new green carpet. The variety is resistant to trampling and also shows good resistance to common diseases such as rust and powdery mildew. Thanks to the dense grass cover, it effectively suppresses weed growth and provides a beautiful, even surface on the lawn.
