Bentgrass SCANDI

Professional turf solutions: performance and aesthetic

Bentgrass «Scandi» is a result of advanced breeding by Russia’s leading agricultural research institutions, including the Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources. Designed for both professional sports facilities and high-end landscaping, this variety delivers a robust, dense turf that can handle frequent foot traffic while maintaining a uniform appearance.

Practical use cases

• Sports Facilities. The primary advantage of «Scandi» is its regenerative capacity. Its ability to produce stolons makes it resilient to moderate physical wear, creating a springy turf surface that protects the soil structure.
• Landscape Management. For large parks and private estates, this variety is prized for its slow vertical growth, which drastically reduces the frequency of mowing compared to standard grass mixtures.
• Soil Stabilization. Due to its creeping habit, the plant anchors itself firmly into the soil, making it a reliable solution for erosion control on slopes and embankments.

Agronomic guidelines

To establish a high-quality turf, «Scandi» should be sown in well-drained, fertile soil. Given the extremely small seed size, a surface sowing method followed by light rolling is recommended to ensure proper soil-to-seed contact. Consistent moisture is critical during the first 30 days post-germination, as the young seedlings are sensitive to dehydration. Once established, the variety forms a lush, carpet-like sward that serves as a premium choice for sites requiring both durability and visual excellence.

As a monoculture, «Scandi» offers the most uniform texture, making it a professional-grade selection for demanding green space projects.
