Barley MIP Sotnik

High-Yield Efficiency for Spring Sowing

The 'MIP Sotnyk' spring barley variety, developed by the Myronivka Wheat Institute, is engineered for farmers who prioritize high grain mass and operational speed. With a growing season of 90–100 days, this variety fits perfectly into early-planting rotations, allowing the crop to capitalize on spring soil moisture before the onset of summer heat stress.

Disease Resilience as a Profit Multiplier

The practical value of 'MIP Sotnyk' lies in its genetic resistance to common pathogens that typically threaten barley margins. By minimizing the risk of infection, farmers can achieve consistent results with fewer fungicide interventions. The variety demonstrates strong resistance to:

• Barley leaf rust (dwarf rust);
• Mycosphaerella leaf blotch;
• Powdery mildew;
• Brown leaf blotch.

This resistance ensures the photosynthetic surface remains intact throughout the critical filling stages, protecting both yield quantity and grain quality.

Field Performance and Harvesting

Standing at 70–80 cm, 'MIP Sotnyk' is well-adapted to high-input environments, showing excellent lodging resistance. The grain is dense and heavy, with a thousand-kernel weight (TKW) of 48–50 grams. This high kernel weight makes it a preferred choice for producers aiming for high output and market-ready grain quality even under variable climatic conditions.

For farm management, 'MIP Sotnyk' provides a predictable schedule and a robust plant structure, making it a reliable choice for efficient large-scale operations.
