The «Holosiivskyi Novyi» maize hybrid is a simple hybrid designed for stable grain production. Developed by originators Ihor Kostiuchenko and Oleksii Kobuta, this variety is engineered for resilience under diverse field conditions. The grain structure is of the dent type, which facilitates efficient moisture release during the maturation phase, a critical factor for high-quality grain harvesting and reduced drying costs.

Resistance to Pathogens

The breeding program by the producer, Private Enterprise «Nasinneva firma «Sofiia», has prioritized a robust phytosanitary profile. «Holosiivskyi Novyi» features strong genetic resistance to major corn pathogens, minimizing crop loss:

• Smut diseases: High tolerance to both common smut and head smut ensures the structural integrity of ears and tassels throughout the season.
• Stalk and root rot: Specific selection criteria have resulted in a plant capable of withstanding stalk rot pressure, reducing the risk of lodging during the final stages of the grain-filling period.

With a vegetation period of 120–140 days (FAO 90–1240), this hybrid is classified as mid-maturing, allowing for optimal adaptation to various climatic zones in Ukraine.

Practical Field Application

As a simple hybrid, «Holosiivskyi Novyi» offers uniform development, which is essential for mechanized harvest operations. The dent-type grain provides high bulk density and reliable threshing performance. By integrating this hybrid into a crop rotation, producers benefit from a reduction in the need for intensive fungicide applications, thanks to the inherent disease resistance package. This, combined with consistent yield output, positions it as a practical solution for grain-focused farming operations.
