MIP Vysnik

The barley variety 'MIP Vysnik' was developed by the Myronov Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and has been included in the State Register of Ukraine, confirming its agronomic significance. This variety is a striking spring barley, created based on long-term research into abiotic and biotic factors affecting barley growth in the Central Forest-Steppe region of Ukraine. During selection, a systematic approach was applied to enhance the variety's productivity and adaptability to various growing conditions.

'MIP Vysnik' belongs to the medium-maturing varieties with a period from emergence to heading of 58-60 days. Plants are medium-height, reaching 75-80 cm, and exhibit high resistance to lodging (7-8 points) and shattering (9 points). The variety demonstrates good resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew, leaf spot, and dwarf rust, with resistance ratings of 6-8 points. The grain is large, with a 1000-grain weight of 55.7-59.8 g, and protein content ranges from 10.8% to 12.1%.

The genetic yield potential of this variety exceeds 9.0 t/ha, as confirmed by competitive trials conducted between 2016-2018, where 'MIP Vysnik' yielded 1.33 t/ha more than the standard. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, this barley variety is suitable for cultivation under various agroclimatic conditions, ensuring a stable and high yield.
