MIP Bogun

Barley MIP Bogun — this is a high-quality, bright variety of barley, registered in 2017 and belonging to the nutans type. It is characterized by a medium ripening period, from emergence to heading 58–60 days. Plants are medium-height, reaching 62–85 cm, which ensures ease of cultivation and harvesting. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including forest-steppe and steppe regions.

MIP Bogun is distinguished by high yield, which varies across different regions of Ukraine from 5.6 to 8.45 tons per hectare. It exhibits good resistance to lodging, shattering, as well as diseases such as powdery mildew, helminthosporiosis, scab, leaf spots, and dwarf rust. The drought resistance of the variety is rated 8–9 points, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under water deficit conditions.

The grain is large-seeded, with 1000-grain weight ranging from 49.4–52.4 g, and protein content between 10.8–13.2%. These characteristics make MIP Bogun attractive both as seed material and for producing high-quality grain. The variety combines high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, ensuring stable and high yields.
