Apple Vidubychka

Practical Potential of the 'Vydubytska' Apple Variety

Developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine, the 'Vydubytska' apple variety is a reliable choice for orchards where high climatic adaptability and predictable yield are essential. This variety is designed for growers looking for a balance between low-maintenance tree care and market-ready fruit quality.

Agrotechnical Features

The tree develops a spreading crown, which necessitates careful planning of orchard density to ensure sufficient sunlight penetration and airflow. Due to its strong winter hardiness, this variety is an optimal choice for regions prone to harsh winters, minimizing the risk of frost damage to the tree structure.

Scenarios for Practical Application

• Fresh Market: The fruits, weighing 150–200 grams, feature an attractive elongated-round-conical shape, making them suitable for local retail. The greenish-yellow skin and creamy flesh provide a appealing dessert quality.
• Processing and Logistics: With a storage life of up to one month, the most effective strategy for this variety is prompt sales or immediate processing after harvest. It is an excellent candidate for producing freshly squeezed juice, purees, and home preserves that require short-term storage cycles.

By planting 'Vydubytska', a grower gains a stable, stress-tolerant variety that does not require overly complex agrotechnological intervention while consistently delivering fruits of decent size and quality.
