SLAVYANIN

The Slavyanin apple variety is a medium-sized, fast-growing tree with a rounded-pyramidal crown of medium density. This winter variety is characterized by weak growth vigor and begins fruiting in the third year after planting. The variety is self-unfruitful, so the presence of pollinator varieties is required for successful pollination.

Slavyanin apples are large, with an average weight of about 160 grams, and a maximum weight of up to 230 grams. The apples have a flattened conical shape with a broad-ribbed surface. The fruit skin is dry, shiny, without a waxy bloom, greenish-yellow in color with clear crimson-red stripes and speckles covering most of the fruit. The flesh is creamy, medium density, tender and juicy, with a mild aroma. The fruit has a pleasant, sweet-and-sour taste, making them suitable for fresh consumption as well as for making juice and puree.

The Slavyanin variety is distinguished by high resistance to scab due to the presence of the Rvi5 (Vm) gene, which provides reliable protection against four strains of this disease. The variety has high yield and can reach up to 35 tons per hectare when grown on semi-dwarf rootstocks. The fruits ripen in late September and have good storage life, maintaining their qualities when stored in a refrigerator until January. Thanks to these characteristics, the Slavyanin apple tree is a promising variety for growing in gardens for the purpose of obtaining high-quality and stable yields.
