Apple Solomia

The 'Solomia' apple variety is a winter cultivar obtained by crossing 'Florina' and 'Mayak'. It is a medium-sized tree with a compact, broadly round crown, making it suitable for cultivation in various conditions. The fruiting type is mixed, and on a medium-sized rootstock, the apple tree begins to bear fruit from the 3rd to 4th year after planting. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe, Polissia, and steppe zones, indicating its adaptability to different climatic conditions.

The fruits of the 'Solomia' variety are medium-sized, weighing from 160 to 190 grams, with an elongated-conical shape, slightly ribbed, green-yellow in color with a blush on the sun-exposed side and a bluish bloom. The flesh is creamy, dense, fine-grained, and juicy, with a sour-sweet flavor rated at 8.0 points. The fruits ripen in October and can be stored without loss of flavor quality until May, making this variety convenient for long-term storage and winter use.

The variety exhibits high resistance to scab and powdery mildew, as well as good winter hardiness, significantly reducing risks when grown under unfavorable conditions. To maintain fruit quality, fruit thinning is recommended. Due to its characteristics and resistance, the 'Solomia' apple tree is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking tasty and long-lasting apples.
