ZASLAVSKOYE

The Zaslavskoye apple is a late-winter variety, developed through a complex crossbreeding of several hybrids, ensuring high winter hardiness and resistance to scab and other fungal diseases. The tree has medium growth strength with a wide-rounded, spreading crown of medium density. Shoots are straight, of medium thickness, with pubescent buds and large leaves with a wavy edge. Flowers are medium-sized, pinkish-white, and slightly aromatic. The variety is characterized by early fruiting—bearing fruit as early as the third to fourth year after planting.

Zaslavskoye fruits are large, weighing from 170 to 200 grams and more, of round-conical shape with slight ribbing. The skin is smooth, oily, and shiny, with a basic greenish color and a dark red blurred blush covering most of the surface. The flesh is light green or light cream, juicy, of medium density, with a sweet-and-sour taste and medium aroma. The fruits have high storability—preserved from November to April, and when stored in a refrigerator, the consumer period can last until May.

The Zaslavskoye variety is characterized by high yields, reaching up to 40 tons per hectare with a planting density of about 1666 trees per hectare. Apple trees are not demanding on soil composition, but yields are significantly higher on fertile soils. Due to high resistance to adverse weather conditions and diseases, as well as regular fruiting, this variety is economically advantageous for cultivation in various regions.
