Grape Yarilo

Operational advantages of the Yarilo grapevine variety

Growers focused on early harvests find 'Yarilo' a balanced and effective tool for both winemaking and fresh market sales. Developed by the V.E. Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Enology, this variety demonstrates high adaptability to Ukrainian climatic conditions, simplifying agricultural maintenance and reducing protection costs.

Maintenance and cultivation

As an early-ripening technical variety, 'Yarilo' does not require an excessively long growing season, which is crucial in regions prone to early autumn frosts. Its management boils down to a standard set of practices:

• Pruning: The variety is responsive to crop load management, allowing for various pruning techniques without compromising berry quality.
• Resilience: Its genetic profile facilitates easier management of common vineyard diseases, reducing the frequency of fungicide applications.
• Harvesting: Early ripening provides a market advantage, ensuring you reach the fresh produce market ahead of competitors.

Application and economics

Versatility is the main advantage of this hybrid. You are not limited to a single sales channel. The white berries perform excellently both for fresh consumption (maintaining good transportability) and as raw material for winemaking. Consistent sugar accumulation ensures predictable results during processing. This is a rational choice for farmers seeking a crop with clear return-on-investment potential and no need for specialized or overly complex maintenance equipment.
