Apple Fiona

Working with the "Fiona" apple variety

For orchardists seeking stability in an unpredictable climate, domestic selection offers the "Fiona" variety. Developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden in Ukraine, this apple tree has proven its reliability in both commercial and private orchards.

Durability and Operation

The key characteristic that defines the choice of this variety is its excellent winter hardiness. In the harsh winter conditions typical of many regions, the trees do not require excessive effort for winter protection or complex resuscitation after spring frosts. For an orchard operator, this means predictability: you establish your orchard once with long-term reliability, without fearing mass bud freeze or wood damage.

Maintenance and Care

"Fiona" does not cause unnecessary trouble regarding maintenance. The tree has a balanced growth habit, which simplifies crown management and pruning. You won't have to spend extra time on constant structural formation or drastic removal of water sprouts. From the perspective of annual maintenance, the variety demonstrates a strong response to standard agricultural practices: proper irrigation and timely fertilization yield stable results without the need to source rare or expensive chemical inputs.

• Orchard Repairability: High capacity for rapid vegetative recovery following sanitation pruning.
• Protection: It possesses strong natural resistance to diseases, which allows for a reduction in the number of scheduled fungicide treatments compared to more sensitive imported varieties.
• Efficiency: Reduced reliance on intensive protection programs lowers the production cost per unit.

If your goal is to acquire a reliable, low-maintenance variety that provides stable yields even during challenging seasons, "Fiona" will be a valuable asset in your agricultural toolkit.
