RED JONAPRINCE

Red Jonaprince apple — a high-yielding late-autumn variety bred in the Netherlands and widely cultivated in Europe. This variety is a clone of the popular Jonagold and is distinguished by large, uniform fruits weighing around 200 grams and more. Apples have an oval-round shape and are covered with a rich dark red or carmine blush that almost completely covers the main fruit color. The flesh is creamy, juicy, crisp, with a pleasant aroma and sweet-sour taste, making the fruits in demand in the market of quality apples.

Trees are medium-sized, reaching a height of about 3 meters, forming an oval-pyramidal or oval canopy of medium density. Shoots are vigorous, straight and thick. The variety bears fruit as early as the second or third year after planting and is characterized by very high, stable and regular yield. To maintain fruit quality, it is recommended to practice yield thinning, as the variety is prone to overloading, which can negatively affect taste qualities.

Red Jonaprince is characterized by good frost resistance and resistance to major diseases, including high resistance to powdery mildew and moderate resistance to scab and brown spot. Fruits have excellent transportability and can be stored in a refrigerator until April, and under ordinary conditions until January. Thanks to these qualities and the attractive appearance, the variety is popular in both industrial intensive gardens in Europe and in the climatic conditions of Ukraine.
