YAKHONT

The Yakhont grape variety is a hybrid form obtained by crossing the Chateen and Evening varieties. This variety belongs to the medium ripening period and is characterized by large clusters weighing from 250 to 300 grams, consisting of round blue-black berries with a waxy bloom. The berries have an average weight and are suitable for making dry wines. The variety has resistance to some diseases, but is susceptible to black spot.

On the other hand, Yakhont is a hybrid form of very early ripening, ripening in 90-100 days, with harvest in late July - early August. Clusters of this variety are large, conical, weighing from 600 to 1200 grams and more, with large oval yellow berries up to 14-16 grams. The berries differ in dense, crunchy flesh with a pronounced musk aroma and thin edible skin. Clusters retain their taste qualities on bushes for a long time, do not crack and are not damaged by wasps, which ensures high marketability and good transportability.

Shoots of the Yakhont variety fully ripen, and the growth force of the plant is high. It is recommended to regulate the number of inflorescences and clusters for optimal yield. The variety has increased resistance to fungal diseases, and frost hardiness is under study. Thanks to its characteristics, the Yakhont grape is suitable both for fresh consumption and for use in winemaking.
