Yantar Amaranth: Versatility for Modern Farming

The 'Yantar' amaranth variety, developed by the ICG SB RAS, is a high-plasticity crop that bridges the gap between commercial grain production and aesthetic land management. Its ability to adapt to various field conditions makes it a strategic choice for diversified agricultural operations.

Core Applications and Operational Scenarios

With plant heights ranging from 80 to 250 cm, 'Yantar' offers flexibility in agricultural scheduling and site planning:

• Grain Production: Targeted for high-quality amaranth grain used in gluten-free products, specialty flours, and oils. The crop is reliable, providing consistent yields for processing facilities.
• Decorative and Functional Landscaping: Featuring a striking color palette—from green and yellow-green to purple and variegated foliage, combined with red, burgundy, or violet inflorescences—this variety serves as an excellent 'living screen' or focal point in agricultural landscapes and estates.

Cultivation Insights

The success of the 'Yantar' variety lies in its minimal maintenance requirements. For grain production, optimal planting density is key to achieving uniform stalk growth suitable for mechanized harvesting. In contrast, lower densities encourage the development of the plant's distinctive, robust architecture, perfect for ornamental purposes. Its inherent drought resistance makes it a low-risk option for regions facing unpredictable seasonal weather patterns, ensuring stable yields with moderate inputs.
