Amaranth Sasha

Biological Potential of Amaranth 'Sasha'

The 'Sasha' amaranth variety, developed by the Bashkir State Agrarian University, is a specialized cultivar focused on aesthetic and landscape applications. Unlike forage or grain-oriented lines, this variety is optimized for the realization of morphological traits that make it a standout element in agrotourism and urban landscaping.

Technical Specifications and Morphology

• Plant Architecture: The variety exhibits balanced vegetative growth. Breeders focused on stem lodging resistance and uniform distribution of inflorescences, which is crucial for maintaining ornamental integrity throughout the growing season.
• Color Expression: 'Sasha' is noted for intense inflorescence pigmentation, a result of breeding efforts to enhance anthocyanin activity within the plant tissues.
• Adaptive Mechanisms: Having been developed within the research framework of the Bashkir State Agrarian University, the variety possesses an increased plasticity threshold regarding climate fluctuations in temperate zones, reducing risks during open-field cultivation.

The practical value of this variety lies in the predictability of its growth. In intensive use scenarios such as home gardens or mixed borders, the plant maintains its specified morphology without requiring complex agrotechnical interventions beyond standard moisture control and weed management.
