Krepysh

Vegetable amaranth of the «Krepysh» variety is an early-maturing plant with a stem height of 120 to 140 cm and lush green foliage, characterized by green leaves with red veins. This variety is noted for its high yield—up to 3 kg of greens per square meter, making it attractive for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses. Amaranth «Krepysh» is resistant to diseases and capable of adapting to various climatic conditions, including autumn cold. The plant requires warmth and light but is unpretentious regarding soil type, successfully growing even on acidic, sandy, and sod-podzolic soils. The young, tender, and juicy amaranth greens are widely used in cooking—they are added to salads, soups, and beverages. Additionally, flowering plants are dried for the preparation of teas, where they serve as natural dyes and food additives. Amaranth «Krepysh» is valued not only for its taste qualities and versatility but also for its high content of easily digestible protein and anti-tumor properties. The seeds of this variety are small, shiny, and can have a variety of colors—black, pink, yellow, or greenish, which expands the possibilities for using the plant in the food industry and household.
