Amaranth Angelina

Aesthetics and Health in Your Garden

Working with the 'Angelina' amaranth variety, developed by RosNIIPTI SK and Saratov State University of Genetics, Biotechnology and Engineering, you realize that high aesthetics can be low-maintenance. Unlike many introduced species that require constant vigilance, this variety is predictable in its cultivation. The main advantage for the owner is its high natural resistance to powdery mildew. This eliminates the need for frequent fungicide applications, which is critical if you aim for eco-friendly farming practices.

Operational Insights

• Visual Appeal: The lush green foliage retains its aesthetic quality throughout the entire season. The plant forms a neat, sturdy bush that holds up well against strong winds, saving you time on staking and support.
• Agronomic Performance: The variety is responsive to basic agronomic practices while maintaining enough resilience to thrive even with minimal intervention. The well-developed root system allows the crop to withstand short-term drought periods, a signature of the Saratov breeding school.
• Maintenance Requirements: Given the nature of 'Angelina', primary labor is limited to timely weeding during the initial establishment stage. Once mature, the amaranth’s high competitive strength effectively suppresses weeds in the rows.

For a grower, 'Angelina' is a reliable tool for landscape design. You receive a stable, attractive plant without the overhead of expensive protective treatments. Less chemistry, more aesthetics, and reduced labor requirements are the hallmarks of the work done by the experts at Saratov State University and RosNIIPTI SK.
