Amaranth Sultan

Aesthetics and utility of the 'Sultan' amaranth

The 'Sultan' amaranth variety from the 'Kapris' farm is a selection solution finding its place in both landscape design and niche agricultural production. Bred by Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Shepelev, this variety is designed to provide a stable, high-stature plant that integrates seamlessly into private gardens, agritourism complexes, or farm recreation areas.

Practical application in the field

Farms choose 'Sultan' for the following practical scenarios:

• Landscape zoning: With a height of 100–150 cm, this variety is used for creating hedges and backdrops in floral arrangements. The intense red and burgundy hues of the inflorescences maintain their decorative appeal throughout the entire season.
• Agritourism and eco-farms: The plant's aesthetic value attracts visitors, enabling the creation of photo zones and routes for eco-tourists, which helps increase farm brand visibility.
• Soil coverage: Like other amaranth species, 'Sultan' features a well-developed root system, which helps structure the soil and suppress weeds in areas dedicated to decorative use.

The crop is undemanding regarding cultivation conditions; however, to reach its maximum height of 150 cm, it requires sufficient light and moderate moisture. The burgundy color of the inflorescences is most vivid on well-drained, fertile soils, which should be considered when planning planting locations.

The 'Kapris' farm provides high-quality planting material adapted to the local climate. This allows producers to predictably plan crop development, avoid germination losses, and achieve uniform plant growth across the entire field.
