Drymoanthus

The cultivation of Drymoanthus requires strict attention to atmospheric humidity levels, which must be kept high to mimic their native cloud forest or rainforest environments.

Lighting should be bright but indirect. In their natural habitat, they are shielded from harsh direct sun by the branches of host trees, making filtered light essential for indoor or greenhouse success.

Because they are strictly epiphytic, they cannot be grown in standard potting soil. The use of bark mounts or open-weave hanging baskets is necessary to ensure the roots receive adequate oxygenation.

The irrigation strategy focuses on frequent misting or gentle watering. Proper air circulation is critical to prevent fungal infections and to allow the roots to dry out slightly between misting cycles.
