Zorepad Bilotserkivskyi — this is a soft winter wheat variety belonging to the lutecens (non-tall) type. It is characterized by a cylindrical, medium-density white ear with awns 1–2 cm long at the tips of the flower scales. Plants are medium-height, with 1000-grain weight up to 52 g, red and large kernels. The variety is mid-early, maturing 2–3 days earlier than average-maturing analogs, allowing for harvest at optimal times. Plant height is 5–10 cm lower than standard varieties, enhancing resistance to lodging.
This variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness (8.6–8.8 points) and drought tolerance (8.5–9.0 points), making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, especially in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. Zorepad Bilotserkivskyi has high resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, brown rust, root rots, and Fusarium ear blight, with resistance ratings from 8.3 to 9.0 points. A strong waxy coating on the ear, flag leaf, and straw additionally protects the plant from adverse conditions.
The variety is recommended for cultivation on good preceding crops with high agrochemical inputs and mineral fertilizers, promoting maximum yield potential, which can reach 90–100 c/ha. Optimal sowing dates are from September 10 to October 10, with a seeding rate of 4.5–5.5 million viable seeds per hectare. The bread-making qualities of this variety are rated as good to excellent, making it valuable for producing high-quality grain.
