Maize Damiir

Proven Genetics for Reliable Yields

The «Damir» corn variety is a result of long-term breeding efforts by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS. In a market dominated by high-input intensive hybrids, this variety remains a reliable choice for farmers who prioritize consistency, crop stability, and adaptation to specific Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions.

Agronomic Profile

Damir was specifically developed for grain production. Its value lies in its high plasticity, allowing the plant to demonstrate stable yields even under moderate agricultural management. Key features include:

• Type: open-pollinated variety.
• Origin: Ukraine, V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS.
• Use Case: grain production.

Due to the selective work of scientists in Kharkiv, the variety exhibits good resistance to lodging and typical Ukrainian-bred drought tolerance. This makes it an excellent option for regions with risky farming conditions or for operations aiming to minimize seed costs without sacrificing the final product's quality.

Why choose this variety?

Investing in Damir is a pragmatic decision. Unlike highly specialized hybrids that require perfect conditions and maximum fertilizer application, this variety is forgiving of management variables. It is well-suited for farmers looking to maintain consistency year after year. Furthermore, as a variety, it offers stability in grain quality, which has secured its long-standing reputation in the domestic agricultural sector.
