Wheat variety MIP Lada, registered in 2019, is a high-yielding, mid-season winter variety developed for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including Polissia and forest-steppe. This variety is distinguished by its high winter hardiness and drought resistance, confirmed by ratings on an 8-point scale. Plant height varies from 86.8 to 99.8 cm, contributing to good resistance to lodging and shattering, with ratings of 8-9 points. MIP Lada is ideally suited for soils with low fertility, making it a universal choice for different agroclimatic conditions. The variety exhibits high resistance to multiple fungal diseases, including head fusarium, powdery mildew, rust, and septoria, as well as to pests such as the wheat fly and bean bug, ensuring stable yields and reducing the need for intensive chemical protection. Grain test weight is 790 g/l, indicating high grain quality. An important feature is the protein content ranging from 13.6–14.2% and gluten content from 23.8 to 27.8%, providing excellent baking and milling properties. The yield of MIP Lada varies depending on the growing region and can reach 11.0 t/ha in the Sumy region and approximately 9.3 t/ha in the Vinnytsia region. Due to its qualities and adaptability, this variety is recommended for widespread use across all regions of Ukraine, including the Kyiv-Volyn region.
