CHELYAB 2

CHELYAB 2 is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with an early maturity period, lasting from 73 to 87 days. It matures 2-4 days earlier than standard varieties such as Omskaya 32 and Kazakhstanskaya rannespelaya, and matches the maturity period of the variety Novosibirskaya 15. The plant is medium-sized with a semi-erect bush and a pyramidal head 8–10 cm long. The grain is semi-elongated, medium-sized, with the weight of 1000 grains varying from 32 to 38 grams. The variety belongs to the erythrospermum type and is characterized by good baking qualities corresponding to the level of a good filler.

CHELYAB 2 has medium drought tolerance, comparable to the variety Novosibirskaya 15, making it suitable for cultivation in the Ural region, including the Chelyabinsk region. The yield of the variety in this region reaches an average of 14.9 centners per hectare. The variety is moderately susceptible to brown rust and septoria, susceptible to solid head smut, and highly susceptible to powdery mildew, which requires attention during crop protection.

This variety is recommended for cultivation in the Chelyabinsk region and the Ural region due to the combination of early maturity, drought resistance, and good grain technological characteristics.
