Wheat Version

Maximizing Yield through Genetic Resilience

The winter wheat variety "Versiya," developed by the Dokuchaev Federal Agrarian Scientific Center, is engineered for producers aiming for high-intensity crop management. This variety excels by providing a balance between significant yield potential and reliable protection against common field diseases.

Field Performance and Management

• Phytosanitary Stability: With inherent resistance to leaf rust, septoria, and powdery mildew, this wheat reduces the need for emergency fungicide applications, allowing for more predictable and cost-effective crop protection programs.
• Harvest Security: Excellent lodging resistance is a critical operational advantage, ensuring the crop remains upright and harvestable even under unfavorable weather conditions, which minimizes grain losses during mechanical harvesting.
• Yield Scalability: The variety is capable of delivering between 7 and 10 tonnes per hectare, provided that high-input nitrogen management and optimal agronomic practices are maintained.

For farm operations, "Versiya" serves as a productive workhorse in intensive cropping systems. It is best suited for fertile soils where it can fully utilize mineral fertilization to build high-yield biomass. By selecting this variety, agronomists gain a reliable asset that maintains structural integrity throughout the season and resists pressure from major pathogens, securing a consistent ROI in diverse production scenarios.
