Wheat Tanok

Stability as the Key Argument

The Tanok wheat variety is a representative of the breeding program developed by the National Scientific Center 'Institute of Agriculture of NAAS'. It is specifically designed for regions with high infectious pressure. In an era where erratic weather conditions often trigger fungal outbreaks, this variety serves as a robust defense for the agronomist.

Phytosanitary Potential

The primary value of this variety lies in its comprehensive resistance to major biotic stressors. Unlike many intensive foreign hybrids that require rigorous fungicide management, Tanok demonstrates strong natural immunity against:

• Yellow and brown rust;
• Septoria;
• Powdery mildew;
• Fusarium head blight.

This makes the variety an optimal choice for farms looking to reduce pesticide pressure without compromising total yield.

Agrotechnical Nuances

The variety shows good lodging resistance, a critical factor for obtaining high-quality grain. However, like any Ukrainian-bred cultivar, it reaches its full genetic potential when proper crop rotation and optimal sowing dates are followed. Tanok is forgiving of minor management inconsistencies but performs best on the fertile soils of the Forest-Steppe zone.

Who is this variety for? Primarily for those seeking a balance between predictable results and cost-effective seed investments. If you want to minimize the risk of yield loss due to diseases without overpaying for intensive technologies, Tanok is a sound and reliable choice.
