Wheat variety «Omskaya 24» is a spring soft wheat of medium maturity with a vegetation period of 80 to 97 days. This variety was developed by Russian breeders and is characterized by a medium-height semi-erect plant with a stem height of about 79 cm. The head is pyramidal in shape, medium density, white in color with short awn-like appendages. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 34 to 44 grams, indicating good grain quality. The yield of the variety in different regions is on average from 23 to 27 c/ha, while maximum indicators reach 55.2 c/ha under favorable conditions. Variety «Omskaya 24» has resistance to lodging and drought at the level of standards, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the West Siberian and East Siberian regions. However, it is moderately susceptible to brown rust and powdery mildew, and is strongly affected by smut and root rots, therefore seed treatment is recommended to protect against pests such as the carrot fly. The waxy coating on the head and straw is pronounced, which can contribute to plant protection from unfavorable factors. To increase the yield of variety «Omskaya 24», the application of macro- and micronutrients is effective. Combined use of diamophoska, superphosphate, and microelements such as zinc and copper allows increasing yield by 22.4%, and in some variants, the increase reaches 16-23.8%. This not only increases the economic efficiency of production but also improves agronomic indicators. Bread-making quality of the variety is assessed as satisfactory, making it suitable for use in the food industry.
