Soft spring wheat of the 'Predgornaya' variety is a medium-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 80 to 97 days, ripening 2-3 days later than the Altaiskaya 100 variety. The plant is medium-height, with a stem height of about 79 cm, semi-erect, with a weakly formed straw. The ear is pyramidal, of medium density, white in color, with short awn-like appendages at the end, has a rounded narrow shoulder and a very short straight awn. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 34 to 44 grams, the grain is colored. The variety belongs to the lutescens type and is recommended for cultivation in the Western Siberian and Eastern Siberian regions, including the Altai Territory and the foothills of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The 'Predgornaya' variety differs in its resistance to lodging and drought resistance at the level of standards. A waxy bloom on the ear and upper internode of the straw, as well as on the sheath of the flag leaf, is expressed strongly and very strongly, which contributes to plant protection. The yield of the variety averages 23.2-25.1 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 55.2 c/ha, recorded in the Tyumen region. Compared with benchmark varieties, such as Altaiskaya 100 and Altaiskaya 75, 'Predgornaya' demonstrates an increase in yield in recommended cultivation zones. Regarding disease resistance, the variety is moderately susceptible to brown rust and susceptible to powdery mildew. Under field conditions, strong infection by powdery smut and root rots is noted. The baking qualities of the variety are assessed at a satisfactory filler level, which makes it suitable for use in the baking industry. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and adaptation to the conditions of Western and Eastern Siberia, the 'Predgornaya' variety is a promising choice for agricultural production in the indicated regions.
