A New Milestone from the Institute of Grain Crops

In 2025, the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine was updated with a new development: the "DU Zolotarivka" maize hybrid. This variety is the result of long-term breeding efforts by the State Institution "Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine," aimed at strengthening the domestic seed market for the northern and central regions of the country.

Adaptation to Polissia Conditions

The primary focus in developing "DU Zolotarivka" was ensuring stability within the Polissia agro-climatic zone. Its medium-early maturity group allows the crop to effectively utilize the growing season and ensure a high-quality grain harvest. The hybrid is specifically designed for grain production, making it a strategic asset for farms operating in regions with moderate moisture availability.

Morphological Profile

According to official State Register data, "DU Zolotarivka" exhibits a robust plant structure. The significant plant height combined with a low ear insertion point contributes to high lodging resistance. The ear features a conical-cylindrical shape with an increased diameter, indicating high grain-filling potential. The plant displays moderate green leaf intensity and an optimal leaf angle, facilitating efficient photosynthesis under varying light conditions.
