Antara

The winter wheat variety Antara is intended for cultivation using intensive technology and is characterized by high yield, reaching 92.3 centners per hectare. It is adapted to various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. The variety exhibits high cold resistance (8.6 points), drought resistance (8.2 points), and high lodging resistance (9 points), ensuring a stable grain yield even under adverse weather conditions. Morphologically, Antara has a height of 79-81 cm, a strong and thick stem, dark green leaves, spike length from 10.2 to 12.6 cm, oval-shaped kernels, and a 1000-kernel weight ranging from 42-45 grams.

Antara responds well to nitrogen fertilizer application in the spring, which contributes to increased yield and improved grain quality. The gluten content in the grain ranges from 30.2-32.4%, and the crude protein content is 13.6-14.8%, making it suitable for producing high-quality flour. Flour from Antara wheat is used for baking bread, confectionery and pasta products, as well as for animal feed. Additionally, the grain of this variety is used in some recipes for brewing beer and vodka.
