Description ETHNOS
Wheat of the «Ethnos» variety is a winter soft wheat developed by Russian breeders from the National Grain Center. This medium-maturing variety is characterized by a vegetation period ranging from 218 to 305 days, depending on the growing region. The stem of the plant has a medium thickness, and the ear has a spindle shape. The grain is light red in color, with a mass of 1000 grains of about 48 grams. The variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness, which is above average, and resistance to various climatic conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in regions with a moderate climate, including the Lower Volga region and the Republic of Kalmykia.

The yield of the «Ethnos» variety varies depending on growing conditions and the region, reaching an average of 35.7 c/ha in the Lower Volga region and up to 55.2 c/ha in more favorable conditions. The wheat possesses high milling and bread-making qualities: raw gluten content is 31%, and protein is 14.9%, ensuring good flour and bread quality. However, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as brown rust, hard smut, ear fusarium, and powdery smut, which requires careful agro-technical approach during cultivation.

In addition, «Ethnos» wheat can be used in whole grain form, retaining all natural components of the grain. Whole grain wheat is suitable for germination and preparing useful porridges and vegetarian dishes. Germination of grains contributes to the conversion of proteins and fats into useful fatty acids and an increase in fiber content, making it a valuable product for proper and healthy nutrition.
