Wheat Kws Talent

Field Performance: A Reliable Choice for Intensive Farming

Working with KWS Talant winter wheat, developed by the German breeder KWS, offers a clear advantage for those focusing on high-input technology. With a vegetation period of 90–100 days, it fits perfectly into balanced crop rotation schedules.

Disease Resilience and Protection

The primary benefit of KWS Talant is its natural defense mechanism.

• Powdery mildew and Fusarium head blight;
• Yellow and brown rust;
• Septoria and Pyrenophora;
• Root rot and Mycosphaerella leaf blotch.

With a winter-hardiness rating of 7, the crop manages temperature fluctuations during the dormant season remarkably well, ensuring a healthy plant stand in the spring.

Yield Potential and Seed Quality

The grain quality is visually impressive, with a thousand-kernel weight of 50–55 grams, which translates into vigorous emergence and uniform plant density. Depending on fertilizer application and moisture availability, the yield potential can hit 9–11 tons per hectare. Even under stressful conditions, it remains highly productive, typically yielding between 5–8 tons. For any farm manager looking to balance predictability with high output, KWS Talant is a top-tier performer that responds exceptionally well to modern agronomic practices.
