Winter wheat soft variety MIP Dovira is a fast-maturing, high-yielding variety developed by individual selection from a hybrid population. The breeder is the State Scientific and Industrial Center of Grain and Feed Crops (Odessa), and the producer is the company "Rost Agro". The variety belongs to the maturity group with a period of 276-280 days and is characterized by high yield — up to 128 c/ha. The thousand-grain weight is 42-44 g, and plant height ranges from 92 to 102 cm. The grain has high protein content (13.8-14.6%) and gluten (33.0-35.0%), ensuring stable product quality. Reproduction — elite, packaging is available in big bags of 1 ton and sacks of 50 kg.
The variety possesses high genetic potential for productivity and grain quality, which is realized both under optimal and drought conditions. Plants develop intensively in autumn and undergo hardening processes during the autumn-winter period. MIP Dovira exhibits high frost and winter hardiness, exceeding average levels, and high drought and heat resistance due to physiological-genetic mechanisms. The vernalization period of the variety is relatively short — 20-25 days, and the variety has low photoperiod sensitivity, enhancing its adaptability.
Recommended sowing dates vary from optimal to late, up to October 20, allowing the variety to be used after harvesting corn and sunflower. The variety is adaptable to various soil types and preceding crops, responds well to high nitrogen fertilization, and requires growth regulators under high agroclimatic conditions. MIP Dovira is recommended for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia, confirming its genetic stability and adaptability to different ecological conditions.
