Description SALYUT ALTAI
Salyut Altai is a variety of hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) belonging to the medium-maturity group. It is characterized by high yield and excellent pasta qualities, making it highly sought after for the production of pasta and semolina. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 35 to 42 grams, and the variety belongs to the Gordiiforme type. Due to its vitreous nature and gluten content, the grain possesses outstanding technological properties.

The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Western Siberia region, specifically in the Aлейsky steppe, Priobsky forest-steppe, and foothills of the Altai Territory. It demonstrates medium resistance to lodging and drought, as well as high resilience to stress factors. However, the variety is susceptible to hard head smut, brown rust, and septoria, but is resistant to powdery head smut and is not affected by yellow rust. For optimal growth, it is recommended to use nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers, as well as adhere to sowing rates depending on the sowing time.

Agrotechnical recommendations include sowing with a rate of 450–550 seeds per square meter for early sowing and 550–600 for late sowing. The best predecessors for Salyut Altai are fallow land, legumes, rapeseed, and potatoes. The variety is well adapted to Siberian conditions, adequately responds to external factors, ensuring stable productivity and grain quality, as well as resistance to black shattering.
