Sorghum grain KALATUR® is a medium-early variety developed by French breeders of the company Euralis Semences and included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region. The vegetation period of the variety ranges from 100 to 115 days, allowing effective use in various climatic conditions. KALATUR is characterized by its low stature and resistance to lodging and shattering, which facilitates mechanized harvesting and reduces yield losses.
This sorghum variety is intended for grain use and is widely used in animal husbandry as a fodder crop. The grain of KALATUR has a high content of nutrients: protein — 11.3%, starch — 69.4%, fat — 4.3%. The thousand-grain weight varies from 21.9 to 30.4 grams depending on the growing region, indicating good grain size and quality. Due to these characteristics, sorghum KALATUR is a valuable component of rations for poultry and livestock.
The yield of this variety demonstrates stable and high performance. In various regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, the average yield ranges from 16.8 to 61.7 centners per hectare, with maximum values recorded in Rostov Oblast and Almaty Oblast. The variety exhibits good drought resistance, making it promising for cultivation under limited water supply. Yield increase compared to the average standard is about 11.4%, confirming its high productivity and economic efficiency.
