LID MACUMBA — this is an elite variety of winter soft wheat, grown in Canada and adapted to Ukrainian conditions. A mid-season variety with a vegetation period of 287–292 days demonstrates high winter hardiness, confirmed under adverse weather conditions. It exhibits excellent drought tolerance and resistance to major leaf and ear diseases such as septoria and fusarium, which is particularly important for stable yields under current climatic conditions.
The variety is characterized by high productivity potential, capable of achieving yields of 100 ц/ha and more. LID MACUMBA forms a strong flag leaf with a wide leaf blade and high chlorophyll content, which contributes to effective solar energy accumulation and, consequently, high yields. High lodging resistance is maintained even with significant nitrogen applications (up to 200 кг/ha N). Additionally, the variety is low-growing (around 90 cm), which improves the grain/straw ratio, facilitating harvest and subsequent soil tillage.
Grain quality meets the requirements of strong wheat varieties: protein content ranges from 13.8 to 14.9%, gluten content from 33 to 40%, and flour strength reaches 400–480 units. Positive characteristics also include high resistance to shattering and grain sprouting in the ear. All these traits make LID MACUMBA a reliable choice for obtaining stable and high yields under various agroclimatic conditions.
