LENTA 45

Lenta 45 is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with an average early maturation period, developed by scientists of the Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center. The vegetation period ranges from 73 to 85 days, allowing for successful cultivation of this variety under the risky agricultural conditions of the Urals and the West Siberian region. The variety belongs to the lutescens type, characterized by a white awnless, non-hairy head and red grain. The plants are medium-sized with medium-level lodging resistance.

Lenta 45 is distinguished by high yield and grain quality. In environmental variety trials, yield reached 55 centners per hectare, with the weight of 1000 grains varying from 33 to 44 grams. The grain contains up to 17% protein and up to 39% gluten, ensuring excellent baking properties. The variety consistently forms gluten not lower than the third class, making it in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products.

The variety exhibits high drought resistance and medium resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, powdery scab, loose smut, and stem rust. However, it is susceptible to septoria. Thanks to its adaptive qualities and stable productivity, Lenta 45 is recommended for cultivation in the Ural and West Siberian regions, as evidenced by its inclusion in the State Register of Breeding Achievements.
