Maize EG 5024

Gastronomic potential of early-mid ripening corn

The French breeding expertise of Lidea presents the EG 5024 hybrid, a variety that redefines the approach to growing vegetable-type corn. This is not a fodder crop, but a specialized variety developed for producers focused on the fresh market who prioritize superior taste and visual appeal.

Practical application in the field

EG 5024 fits perfectly into an intensive farming model where high-quality marketable output is the primary goal. Due to its early-mid maturity, this hybrid allows for flexible harvesting schedules and market supply management:

• Fresh Market and Retail: The yellow-orange, intermediate-type grain offers an attractive appearance, which is crucial for supermarket placement and shelf appeal.
• Processing and Culinary use: Excellent for freezing, canning, and high-end culinary applications where texture and flavor retention are paramount.
• Market Gardening: An ideal choice for farms aiming for a diverse vegetable portfolio, catering to local markets and home cooking enthusiasts.

Choosing this Lidea hybrid means prioritizing consistent organoleptic properties. The intermediate grain type provides the perfect balance between softness and density, making it a versatile ingredient for fresh dishes that require a high standard of aesthetic presentation.
