KRAZA DONA is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) created through interspecific hybridization and individual selection. It belongs to medium-early varieties with plant heights ranging from 75 to 97 cm and a 1000-kernel mass of 40-49 g. The ear is white, awnless, cylindrical, medium length and density. The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, ensuring crop stability under various growing conditions. KRAZA DONA is recommended for sowing on high and medium agrobackgrounds in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions, as well as in the North-Eastern, Azov-Don and Southern zones of the Rostov region, Stavropol Krai, and Volgograd region.
This variety is distinguished by its high yield, which in competition trials reached 8.12 t/ha following grain corn and exceeded the performance of standard varieties. Maximum yields were achieved on black fallow, where figures reached 10.7-11.5 t/ha. KRAZA DONA possesses high drought and cold hardiness, making it a reliable choice for regions with variable climatic conditions.
In terms of grain quality, the variety belongs to the category of 'strong' wheats, which ensures excellent baking properties and high flour quality. It is resistant to brown and yellow rust, moderately resistant to septoria and powdery mildew, but susceptible to loose smut. Optimal timing and sowing rates contribute to achieving maximum productivity and grain quality, making KRAZA DONA a sought-after variety for the food industry and bread production.
