Winter wheat variety Vitalina belongs to mid-early maturing types with a yield potential of up to 10.0 t/ha. Plants reach a height of 80-86 cm and are characterized by valuable grain quality with protein content of 13.4-13.5%. The thousand-grain weight is 39-43 g. The variety is resistant to lodging, shattering, root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions in forest-steppe and steppe zones. Vitalina is classified as an intensive type, registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2007. Plants have a semi-erect medium-height bush, with a strong waxy coating on the flag leaf and straw-white, pyramid-shaped, medium-density spikes. The variety demonstrates high winter hardiness, disease and pest resistance, and good drought tolerance. Average yields in forest-steppe zones reach 73.6 c/ha, and in steppe zones — 62.6 c/ha. The grain of this variety has excellent milling and baking qualities, with gluten content of 27.6-28.4%, flour strength of 277-303 arbitrary units, and loaf volume from 100 g of flour of 1050-1080 ml. To protect wheat Vitalina from weeds such as Vicia cracca (mouse clover), it is recommended to use the herbicide Dianat with dicamba as the active ingredient at a concentration of 480 g/l. This enables effective weed control and maintains healthy crops, contributing to high-quality yields.
