Kesaria Polissia

Kesaria Polissia is a medium-height winter wheat variety registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2017. Plant height ranges from 80–96 cm, with a medium-thick, strong stem and intermediate plant form. The ear is white in color, cylindrical in shape, medium in length and density. Grain is red, with an oval or egg-shaped form; 1000-grain weight ranges from 41 to 50 g depending on growing conditions. The variety is medium-maturing, ripening in 290–295 days, recommended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Polissia regions of Ukraine. This variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, exceeding average levels, and resistance to snow mold. It also exhibits high resistance to lodging, septoria, fusarium ear blight, grain shattering, and grain sprouting in the ear. Kesaria Polissia responds well to mineral fertilizer application and is capable of producing high yields under intensive nutrition. Yield ranges from 7.5–10.8 t/ha depending on agronomic conditions and year of cultivation. In terms of quality, the grain is valuable for bakery industry. Protein content ranges from 13.4–14%, gluten content — 28.3–32%. Dough strength reaches 320 arbitrary units, and bread volume from 100 g flour is 600–680 ml. These characteristics make Kesaria Polissia a versatile variety with good milling and baking properties, meeting requirements of premium wheat.
