PH 1 DB 1 is a mid-season corn (Zea mays L.) variety developed by PIONEER HI-BRED INTERNATIONAL INC. and included in the State Register of Russia. The plant is characterized by medium height and narrow leaves with a small angle between the leaf blade and stem. The ear emergence time is medium or late, with a long main ear axis and a small angle with side branches, which are slightly curved and have a small number of branches. Anthocyanin root coloration at the stem varies from medium to strong, while ear husk and leaf sheath coloration is absent or very weak. The ear is medium length, slender, and weakly conical, with a small stalk and few rows of kernels. The kernel type is intermediate, closer to flinty, with yellow upper part and yellow-orange lower part. The variety is distinguished by its resistance and is adapted for cultivation in all regions of Russia. Morphological features of the plant, such as anthocyanin coloration and ear structure, contribute to its high productivity and grain quality. Medium kernel density and weak silk coloration are also characteristic features of this variety, which affect its resistance to adverse conditions and diseases. For optimal growth and development of corn PH 1 DB 1, fertilizers containing complex micro- and macroelements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, manganese, copper, zinc, magnesium, sulfur, and boron are recommended. In particular, the use of fertilizers with biologically active substances contributes to improved plant nutrition and increased yield. Fertilizer application rates should be followed during leaf stages 3-5 and 7-10, ensuring effective nutrient uptake and maintaining crop health throughout all vegetative stages.
