Winter soft wheat variety Vdala is a high-yielding and intensive variety recommended for cultivation in all agro-ecological zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. This variety belongs to strong and super-strong wheat types with high grain quality and exhibits erythrospermum variety. The vegetation period averages 278–297 days, making it a medium-early variety. Plant height ranges from 85 to 111 cm. The ear is cylindrical or egg-shaped, approximately 9–10.8 cm long, with white ear color and red grain color. Vdala demonstrates high resistance to lodging, shattering, and grain sprouting in the ear, rated 8–9 points, as well as good frost resistance (8–9 points) and drought resistance (8–9 points). The variety has moderate resistance to major diseases, including powdery mildew and brown rust, rated 5–7 points. Due to the erect leaf arrangement, it ensures better plant illumination and aeration, allowing for a 10–15% increase in seeding rate. The variety is well-branched and requires a seeding rate of 4.0–5.0 million germinating seeds per hectare under intensive cultivation with optimal mineral nutrition and timely protection against pests and diseases. The grain quality of variety Vdala is characterized by high crude protein content (13.5–14%) and gluten content (27.6–32%), ensuring high flour strength (356–458 arbitrary units) and excellent baking properties. The loaf volume from flour of this variety reaches 1490–1520 cm³, and the overall bread quality rating is 5.1–5.4 points. Grain transparency is at 99–100%, confirming its high quality. Due to these characteristics, variety Vdala is a reliable choice for achieving high yields with excellent grain quality when recommended agronomic practices are followed.
