Hunta corn is a high-yielding hybrid adapted for cultivation under various soil-climate conditions, including sandy soils and areas with variable soil structure. The enterprise cultivating this hybrid processes extensive land areas where modern agrotechnologies and strict adherence to technological guidelines are applied, ensuring a stable yield of 8 tons per hectare even under challenging conditions. Special attention is given to pre-sowing soil preparation, including tillage to a depth of 30 cm to improve water regime and break up compacted layers, as well as timely sowing dates, which begin in mid-April and do not extend beyond early June in the region. Hunta corn seeds are procured from reputable producers, guaranteeing high-quality planting material and optimal germination.
The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to stress factors, including temperature fluctuations, making it a reliable choice for Central regions of Ukraine and Steppe zones. Plants reach a height of about 2.3 meters, with ears positioned approximately 95 cm above ground. The grain is dent-shaped with a seed extraction rate of 82–86%, facilitating efficient use of the harvest. The potential yield of Hunta corn reaches 12 tons per hectare, with actual yields varying from 9 tons in the Steppe to 11 tons in the Forest-Steppe zone. The recommended planting density is 75–80 thousand plants per hectare in Central regions and 50–55 thousand in the Steppe, allowing for optimized plant growth and development.
Modern methods of protection and crop care are applied during cultivation, including pre-sowing cultivation for weed control and soil leveling, as well as preventive application of trichogramma for pest protection. Several herbicide treatments are conducted during the vegetation period, contributing to plant health and increased yield. Despite adverse weather conditions with insufficient rainfall during the summer, the hybrid demonstrates high productivity and stability, confirmed by agro-expeditions and experience of leading agribusinesses.
