Wheat Diana

Choosing durum wheat: the practical value of 'Diana'

When selecting spring durum wheat, predictability is the key. If you need a variety that remains resilient against pathogens, this is a solid choice.

Phytosanitary performance

Managing 'Diana' simplifies crop protection significantly. The variety carries genetic resistance to key yield-robbers: leaf rust, fusarium head blight, and septoria. In practical terms, this allows for the optimization of fungicide applications. In fields where other varieties might require an emergency spray run, 'Diana' maintains a clean flag leaf.

Performance and operational management

• Yield potential: 5–6 tons per hectare. These figures are achievable when following standard fertilization protocols.
• Development type: Spring wheat, allowing for flexible crop rotation planning.
• Threat control: High resistance to powdery mildew, mycosphaerella leaf spot, and brown spot.

This variety is highly responsive to intensive nutrition programs. While durum wheat generally requires good soil fertility, 'Diana' is forgiving regarding minor maintenance oversights due to its strong innate immunity. The resulting grain features excellent milling and pasta-making qualities, ensuring high marketability for your harvest.
