ULYANOVSKAYA 100 is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with medium maturity and a growing period from 71 to 89 days. The plant is semi-tall, 90–110 cm high, with a semi-erect bush and a loose pyramidal ear of white color. The weight of 1000 seeds is 40–44 g. The variety has high drought resistance and good lodging resistance, which ensures stable yields in various soil and climatic conditions. The average yield in the region is about 19.4 c/ha, with maximum values reaching 49.3 c/ha.
The ULYANOVSKAYA 100 variety has excellent baking qualities due to its high gluten content (about 29.6%) and protein (about 14%). The grain hectoliter weight is 800–840 g/l, vitreousness — 93%, flour strength varies from 160 to 300 cm3, which allows obtaining bread with a quality rating of about 4.1 points. These characteristics make the variety in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products.
The variety is resistant to brown rust, powdery mildew and septoria, however it is susceptible to hard foot rot and moderately susceptible to loose smut. It is also resistant to shattering and sprouting on the roots. The high adaptability of the variety allows its effective use in various regions, providing a stable yield and quality grain. The originator of the variety is FGBNU «Ulyanovsk Research Institute of Agriculture».
