Winter wheat BOĐIČEK

European genetics for stable performance

Winter wheat "Bodyček" from the Czech company Selgen embodies a pragmatic approach to intensive agronomy. In today's climate instability, selecting a variety becomes a strategic decision, and this genetics focuses on minimizing pathogen-related risks. Czech breeding has traditionally aimed for a balance between yield potential and stress adaptability, and "Bodyček" reinforces this reputation.

A phytosanitary shield for your crops

The key advantage of this variety lies in its disease resistance. Agronomists working with intensive technologies are well aware that fungicide applications are a significant cost item. "Bodyček" demonstrates strong genetic resistance to a key spectrum of diseases, allowing for a more flexible approach to crop protection management:

• Snow mold: high resilience during overwintering in unpredictable snow cover conditions.
• Rust diseases: an effective barrier against yellow rust, brown rust, and stem rust.
• Fusarium head blight: reduced infection risks during periods of high humidity during flowering.

This phytosanitary resistance makes the variety predictable in production. For farmers focusing on grain quality, this means not only preserving the thousand-kernel weight but also minimizing mycotoxins, which is critical for marketability.

Economic Profile

The use of Selgen seeds in the region has become a hallmark of professional farming. The "Bodyček" variety fits perfectly into crop rotations where predictable results without the "surprise" of sudden epiphytotics are required. Stability is the main asset of this wheat. It may not claim the title of a "global record-breaker for gross yield," but it ensures that investments in fertilizers and technology are returned in the form of a well-filled ear, rather than wasted on endless battles against fungal infections.

For agricultural enterprises seeking a balance between the reliability of Czech breeders and the demands of modern intensification, "Bodyček" remains one of the most balanced offerings in the Selgen portfolio.
