Soft spring wheat variety BAZHENKA is a medium-height plant with a semi-erect bush and a medium stem height ranging from 75 to 90 cm. The ear is pyramidal, loose with medium density, colored, with short awn-like appendages at the end. The awn is weakly developed, with a strong waxy coating on the upper internode and the sheath of the flag leaf. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 31 to 39 g. The variety originates from hybrids (Tulaikovskaya Jubileynaya x Priokskaya) x Irgina and belongs to the miltruum group. BAZHENKA is characterized by a medium-early maturity period with a vegetative period of 68-85 days, ripening simultaneously with the Gorno-Uralskaya variety and 2-3 days later than Irgina and Iren varieties. It is moderately resistant to lodging above the medium degree, resistant to shedding, and possesses enhanced drought tolerance exceeding standards by 0.5 points. It exhibits high resistance to hard head smut, moderate susceptibility to powdery head smut, and juvenile resistance to fusarium root rots. It is moderately susceptible to septoria, weakly affected by powdery mildew, and moderately affected by brown rust. The main advantages of the variety are high yield, good grain quality, and plasticity. The average yield in the region is 27.4 c/ha, with an increase to standards of 3.4 and 2.9 c/ha respectively in the Kirov and Perm regions, with a maximum yield reaching 47.4 c/ha. Grain natural density is 753 g/l, vitreousness is 56%, and crude gluten content of the first quality group is 27%. Baking qualities are good, with an overall score of 4.0, and the volumetric yield of bread from 100g of flour reaches 560 ml. The variety responds well to fertilizer application and is recommended for intensive cultivation technologies, making it an economically viable choice for agriculture.
