LYUTESCENTS 937 is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety characterized by medium-early maturity and medium plant height. The plants are erect, the straw is hollow with a slight waxy coating, which contributes to lodging resistance. The ear is cylindrical or pyramidal, medium density, 8 to 12 cm long. The grain is elongated, red in color with a pronounced medium groove and a hairy base. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 28-36 grams, ensuring good yield and grain quality. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the West Siberian, East Siberian, and Ural regions, and the lowland southern forest-steppe zone, in particular on strongly soddy soils of the Chelyabinsk region. LYUTESCENTS 937 has medium drought resistance and requires timely sowing to achieve optimal yield. The vegetative period ranges from 85 to 115 days, while the sum of positive temperatures for successful cultivation ranges from 1500 to 1750°C. To increase productivity, nitrogen fertilizers are recommended at different stages of crop development: pre-sowing tillage, fertilization during tillering and heading phases. The variety has good baking qualities, making it in demand for the food industry. However, LYUTESCENTS 937 has medium resistance to powdery bunt and moderate susceptibility to brown rust. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to solid bunt, septoria, powdery mildew, and root rots, so seed dressing and regular fungicide treatments are necessary for plant protection. Such a complex of agrotechnical measures allows maintaining crop health and ensuring a stable high yield.
