Maize POVOLZHSKIY 187 SV

Reliability in Challenging Climates

"Povolzhskiy 187 SV" is a four-line maize hybrid developed by the A.N. Kostyakov Federal Scientific Center for regions with a short growing season. Unlike many imported hybrids that require near-perfect conditions, this variety offers remarkable adaptability and resilience in unpredictable northern climates.

Key Strengths

• Disease Resistance: The hybrid shows high tolerance to common smut, significantly reducing harvest loss risks during wet seasons.
• Pest Defense: Genetic traits allow it to effectively withstand the European corn borer and fusarium, lowering the need for intensive chemical plant protection.
• Silage Focus: This is a specialized silage product. The breeding focus was on biomass accumulation and high nutritional value for livestock feed.

Who is this hybrid for?

"Povolzhskiy 187 SV" is the optimal solution for livestock farms focusing on high-quality silage production. If your goal is to secure nutritious feed before early autumn frosts, this hybrid mitigates the risks associated with the short growing window. While the complex four-line genetic structure requires precise adherence to agronomic practices, the plant compensates with a stable, high-energy nutritional profile.

Important note: This is not a grain hybrid. Its true value is unlocked in silage pits, where maintaining high concentrations of nutrients by maturing the stem and leaves at the right time is critical for livestock productivity.
